About the Founder

Hi everyone! Welcome to my page, I’m so happy you found me! My name is Kourtney, and I am the face behind Once Upon A String. I’ve been a maker for quite some time, but I’ll consider my “official” launch to have been last February (2023). Since then I’ve been making and creating non stop, with most of my favourite pieces coming from YOUR ideas! I started this business with personalized sweaters, when my friend said “Hey Kourt, do you think you could make this?” I had thought about it before, but wasn’t brave enough to try it, and struggled to find the perfect sweater for delicate skin. Since then, I’ve probably made nearly 300 sweaters, 50 denim jackets, and so much more! So THANK YOU Debra, for challenging me to try something new. Now for a quick personal blurb! Dental hygienist by day, creator by night. I work full time, have a 5 year old son, a 2 year old daughter and an absolutely wonderfully supportive husband, who does 95% of the laundry so I can always work through orders on my down time! Haha.
